Paris 2024: ParalympicsGB Start Day Six with Early Medals

ParalympicsGB have started day six of the Paris 2024 Games with two early medals, a gold and a bronze.

The gold medal came in the mixed C1-5 3000m individual pursuit, with George Peasgood taking the title in a time of 3:47.950. The bronze medal came in the women's H1-4 1500m individual pursuit, with Jessica Turner finishing in a time of 4:21.643.

These are the first medals for ParalympicsGB in Paris, and they take the team's total medal count to 12, with four golds, three silvers and five bronzes.

The team is now hoping to add to their medal tally in the upcoming events, which include the men's and women's 100m finals, and the men's and women's 4x100m relay finals.

Here is a list of the medals won by ParalympicsGB so far in the Paris 2024 Games:

  • Gold: George Peasgood (mixed C1-5 3000m individual pursuit), Maisie Summers-Newton (women's S6 100m freestyle), Tom Hamer (men's SB6 100m breaststroke)

  • Bronze: Jessica Turner (women's H1-4 1500m individual pursuit), James Freeman (men's T38 100m), George Peasgood (men's C5 3000m individual pursuit), Danielle Brown (women's T38 100m), Lauren Rowles (women's H5 400m freestyle)

ParalympicsGB are currently sixth in the medal table, behind China, Ukraine, Italy, France and the United States.
